LOL, it does! The old tv show Bonanza, the ranch "The Ponderosa" and 'town', was filmed about 30 miles from here in similar countryside...

hey.. speaking of which, my husband and i used to have, when we lived in SF, a green jeep wagoneer that came from the ranch where it was filmed. it had, painted on both sides, "Ponderosa Ranch of Bonanza Fame!" plus a picture of the burning map they always showed at the beginning of the show, and people were constantly yelling out to us, "hey! where's Ben Cartwright!" and things like that. i kept begging my husband to get the signs painted over, and he finally did when an entire city bus full of people leaned out the windows and were yelling, "Where's Hoss.... who killed Hoss!" LOL.

thanks! I was a little unsure as it truely isn't the "thirds" but the movement of the mountains helps with the balance to me...

I guess I never really think about the rule of thirds. I just kind of go with my gut and whether it feels balanced in a way that is interesting. To me this shot fits that criteria and I think it's great.

I don't really very often either, my 'eye' sees it right and then my brain gets in the way! LOL

Thanks for the vote of confidence

This one moves me strongly. I hear a very low underlying note from a bass overtone flute. [link]

what an awesome link! thank you for sharing that...I played the flute for many of my childhood years and learned of the 'whistle tones'(harmonic nodes and antinodes ) and then took a Physics of Music science class in college so watching and listening to that was really interesting!

I'm glad this moved you
