Asslam Alikum
yeah It's Ramadan ! What's Ramadan ? Ramadan is the name of the holy month in the Islamic calendar ! In this month all Muslims fast ( no eat or drink ) during the dawn until sunset . On the sunset , Muslims break their fast and eat and drink . This month is different than others for many reasons . First ,the Holy Qur'an revealed to the prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him ) (صلى الله عليه وسلم .( ,Second ,the devils are chained ( so they won't be around people will be free from them) . Third, the door of hell closes and the paradise opens. Fourth, The good deeds rewards are doubles .Fifth, There special night called "Lilat Al-Qadr" this night is better than 1000 months! the angles come down from the sky to bless all people who pray and do the good deeds .

Simple story happens here with our friend Ma'roof and Hatim

~One Day of the Ramadan Night~

Ma'roof and his little friend Hatem went out from their house early walking in the neighborhood . They were walking toward the Masjid -mosque- to perform Traweeh prayer. They were holding the traditional lanterns to walk in the dark street . While they were walking , they saw a pretty lamps around the store and made the road brightness . The place was for Abu Majid store .
Ma'roof and Hatem: "asslam Alikum wa rahmatu Allah wa brakatu !" they were greeting him by saying "peace day for you "
Abu Majid : "wa alikum asslam kids " he replied wish them peaceful day
Hatem : "Ramadan kareem uncle"
Abu Majid : "Thank you "
Ma'roof was looking around stunned from the light bulbs around them .
Hatem : " Ramadan Kareem my uncle ! the light bulbs are very pretty I love it "
Abu Majid : "thank you my son!"
Hatem : " we'll come back after pray and buy ( Fool ) from you ! "
Abu Majid : " ahaha no problem ! ma' asslama " he said goodbye for them .
They continued walking until they reach to the masjid and performed the Traweeh prayer .

The End

Note : *fool and Tamees : is the traditional food in many Islamic countries

About the lanterns : People had used lanterns before they had electricity to walk in the night 1400 years ago . In Ramadan people stayed awake at the night ! and the most activity happened there . There were many pretty shape of lanterns for these days . Today , people have electricity , so they don't need lanterns anymore and become the traditional sign of the holy month Ramadan .
That why you see many lanterns in this month
