Description Acrylic on gesso on illustration board (20 x 15 inch)

Hmm... some would consider this as a failure... i suppose i had to agree that this is quite a dead piece.
i didn't really put much thought into it just kinda copy blindly from the photo... plus i wasn't in the best frame of mind when i do the details... was kinda numb, tired and down. so i think dead, no life also descibe my emtion as i try to finish it...
hmm... maybe it is just a practice for skills/basic technique... but lack concept .... but even skillwise- in terms of details it isn't my best yet... since i kinda rush them till the last minute...

What i really like is the almost mono-tone color changes of the lady's face...

I really like this.. just the way everything is lying so untidily.. i want to pick everything up and look at it, i want to examine everything in the picture and figure out where it's all from.. intriguing.

I have to disagree with you. This one caught my eye immediate;y...I think that it is astounding, and I do not usually favourite painted stills...

Doing really well, thanks. IO have been busy and picking up a bunch of extra work so I can pay off some toys that I want to buy. I have come into the new habit of getting all of the money together BEFORE I buy something....especially when I am looking at poutting out a couple thousand in tech toys...

i can't say that this was a failure. color wise, it's wonderful. but i have to say that this isn't the best composition i've seen. far too many details that distract the focus off the main object altho the visual path is actually good.

oh! Don't be so hard on yourself! Some artists couldn't do half as realstic as you can! I wish I could just get an inch in. This is beautiful and a very moody detective kind of tone I love it

A failure? Who on earth told you that!? Anyway, its amazing. I personally love the lighting, especially the way the light reflects on those glasses!

I think that this says more about a person than a portrait. Makes you wonder who the objects belong to.

Very well done! A sure

A failure? Definately not. the composition is interesting, colouring is lovely and the mixed elements all make it into a very lovely piece.

I think it's beautiful.

The golden light, for me, gives it a soft, subtle life. It speaks of the past through inanimate objects, so seems to reflect on what has already been lived, so the life that it has is alluded to through the objects.

Katzai this is great. Sometimes you do not need to really go and create a concept, no need to push it, great work.

P.S. i think kin sun prefer it to have more 'story'/'fade out/and all those stuff.

That is what he prefer, remember that, no point feeling bad if somehow you think you do not meet his requirement. What I know is he wants to see improvement in your own drawing, the marks is not important.

i have no problem with the marks... but i know for a fact that this is a 'rush' work.

OH oh oh! I love the photographs and the glasses. I can sort of see what you mean by the not-concentrated-on-details thing, but I really wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't read your note. -nod nod nod-
