He primarily affects the lungs and the emotional and immune regulatory systems. He makes Jared do bad stuff. Jared's an asshole anyway, but Nic makes him worse. He likes tipping his host to the edge and then leaving him to clean up the mess. Nic's been with him for awhile but Jared has no idea what's going on.

And yes, the black shit in the first image is Nic's hair. He's got prehensile hair.
