This is my half of an art trade with ChristoperCarrion . She wanted Erik and his hookah, and I am more than happy to provide. XD

And why not? Some of the best artists of the 19th century were drug addicts. Even just simple pipe tobacco and snuff count, and quite a few gentleman took both in large quantities from the Renaissance onwards. I've never seen Erik as a drug taking type, but as the hookah is a conversational activity in the Middle East, I suppose I could see him taking a puff or two.

And....anti-drug as I am...I like this pic =^/.^= Erik stoned is just entertaining enough, and the knowledge that he *does* tear his mask off, fling it at the poor confused Daroga, and begin laughing like fuck makes it even *more* insanely amusing.
The hands are *gorgeous*. And I really think there is some Erik hand magic thing going on - I still can't draw hands very well, but I couldn't draw them at all until Erik came along!

I'm actually surprisingly fond of Erik being stoned. I'm hideously straightedge...but he's so cute when he loses control. You know, he's so controlled, so incredibly disciplined all of the time...it's such a change when he lets go of that.
But I don't like the morphine addict thing. I mean, it's kind of cute, only because it's Erik, and he doesn't like being an addict, but it upsets me.
I am so, so freakin' proud of those hands. Specifically the one on his hip.

You know...all my life I have drawn hands behind backs. I have drawn hands as amorphous blobs. I have drawn hands conviniently hidden by rocks ("Why does Johnny Depp have a rock in front of his penis?"). Then Phantom of the Opera came along. And all of a sudden, I can draw hands.

But thank you...my favourite part of this is probably the smoke. Or the cushions. Or possibly just Erik's "I'm so stoned" expression. Of course, that will instantly be dispelled, since in about 2.5 seconds, he's going to tear off his mask, throw it at the Daroga, and begin laughing like fuck. Weirdo.

I'm definately a fan of drawing hands as blobs. But somehow Erik's hands work for me too. I havn't had a single problem with them so far. Must be Erik magic! You've done them beautifully!
It seems somehow very dangerous for Erik to be stoned. He'd be capaple of...well...pretty damn much anything if he lost control. He's bad enough in control. If you can call it that...

Well, I did steal Claude's mask's eyebrows. While I am not really fond of that version, I can at least appreciate how cool the mask is. XD
You know...for someone who is as against drug usage as I am, you'd think this would be beyond me. But somehow, on Erik, it's okay. Maybe because he's not some loser living in his mom's basement and toking up for a lack of anything else to do. Like...there are some people who deserve to use drugs, and who moreso than Erik?
Plus. Even I have to admit that when people smoke, they look kinda sexy.
