Storms will come, alright. Just when and how often? lol.
Beautiful shot.

It's increasingly tough to predict. The "wet" year hasn't happened for a long time - at least 12 years. For now, it's mostly cloudy teasers that may shed a drop or two, leaving a foot of snow on the higher summits and the steepest dirt roads a mud wrestler's dream. The once-common fields of spring wild-flowers are rare.

I think it was in 1988, the second year I was in N.M. that we had a "hundred year rain". It caused a massive amount of flooding in the valley, much of it in downtown Albuquerque. Bond issues got passed, flood control systems got implemented. Haven't seen it that wild since. Now we're in a drought.

Thank you, Renard. Now that's very true, considering that on clear, hazy days the entire landscape is regarded as monotonous by those who are driving through.

I believe the yellow ones to be Desert Dandelion's and the white ones could be Rangers buttons . . . nice to see them in bloom.
very nice

There is something else going on here besides the light playing across the hills in the background. I think with the upslopes on both sides and the formation in the center it has the effect of a sight on that bright spot.

Many thanks for your insight. I'm trying to find a photo editor that won't strip so much resolution and color when saving as a jpg format. PNG and TIF at 120MB would probably crash DA and get me nixed faster than political cartoons. This image suffered both color and resolution loss. I'm open to any suggestions.

I have a similar issue but more with the color when I post to DA. No clue as to how to remidy it yet.
