Description Well FINALLY! I said I'd finish trades eventually and I'm getting there, with a lot of emphasis on the eventually... But when I do trades, I'm serious.
So. This is *ArtLover25 's Emanon! In exchange for her absolutely gorgeous rendition of my character Tyris , I had a choice between his good form and his evil form . After some deliberation, well, no contest. Evil wins all the time. No, I'm not a satanist or anything, but you've got to admit that generally speaking, evil looks cooler. Nazgul anyone?
According to *ArtLover25 , Emanon is half unicorn, half dragon, and so can create flames from his forefeet when they strike the ground, and flowers from the ashes with his hind hooves. I didn't really think flowers would really...work...with his evil form, thus the pose. Plus it's probably the most dynamic pose I've done in ages. Anyway, go to the good form link for more detail on her character.
I took occasional bits of artistic licence (aka forgetfulness) in that I forgot the spikes on the neck, and possibly a bunch of other things...but the ends of his hairs are embery and glowy! You just can't see.... I'll upload a detail.
So yeah, I don't know how long this took, but it was a while. I don't have much experience with multiple major lightsources, or them being in an odd direction and with no "normal" lighting...but it's good practise, so a very good thing!

I can't believe this doesn't have more favorites. The color is amazing, a very good blend. The expression is gorgous. It says so much with such a simple look.

Perhaps the body could have more shape to it, but I don't really know much about that myself. Very nice job!

You are probably right about the body. My - lame XD - excuse is that that was the first time I'd ever done lighting like that, so it was still a bit of an experiment. Until I can make horses sexy and shiny, I will be striving with lighting!

O. Mah. GAwwWwwRd. That's so f'ing beautiful wow!!! Work them SKILLz Bunners!!! I definitely love the lighting, atmosphere, the fiery effects, those FINS... well, ok, just everything. XD ^_____^ I wish I knew more about these creatures at least anatomy-wise for a structured critique, but dunno much about anime anatomy, sucks to say.. Still like what I see, so that's all that matters. X) XD I would've gone for the evil-version myself... hey, evil appearance-wise always trumps all over good. Why else would I draw Trent in dark evil-like clothes? xD

I love those scales! Nice job lighting them and making them look shiny.

Oh...my...goodness!!!! I am at a complete loss of words! I literally saw this and almost fell out of the chair. Thank you so much! He is absolutely stunning, and I love everything about it! The detailing is perfect, his expression suits him perfectly, and the fiery background- You even gave him the three toes and his horn and wings and everything about it is perfect! *dies.*

Yaaaaay, glad you like!
I really am glad you like this, because I'm proud of it, too - and the amount of new stuff I tried out was more than most things I draw, so thanks to you, too!
Good to hear I caught all the major details. I don't think I've ever tried to draw something with triple-cloven hooves before, so that definitely stuck, and the horn...it's odd; it reminded me of the sort of horn I'd used to try to do when I was younger, and never managed to make it look cool. So doing Emanon's was really really fun, even though it was only a small part of it.
Awww you put it on your wall? That makes me blush..... I'm really happy that you like it so much! I could never do a half-arsed trade, when I can make people so happy by making the effort.

You SHOULD be proud of it. It is GORGEOUS.
I'm glad you had fun with it. I draw to have fun too- and since I have discovered photoshop, I have learned a lot about airbrushing and coloring and I like to experiment and learn new things too.
Very cool, and you did totally make my day.
By the way, I'll have to learn wing musculature from you- you seem to have it down. I can never get them right, I usually just slap them on and they don't look right. Anyhoo, thanks again and I'm glad you had fun drawing it. I most certainly enjoyed seeing your portrayal of him.

Wing musculature...well, I base mine on arms, really. Lift your arm up to horizontal and see what your muscles do; the deltoid is the base, and the other muscles just follow. The spars are like a hand with reeeally long fingers. It's quite simple really, and probably flawed, but it seems to work for me Feel free to use it as a ref or whatever, but don't just use me, get other references like bats and things Glad to help!

Wow this is gorgeous and the background and effects and shading are amazing! It reminds me that I /still/ have to get my picture of Morae done! I'm still have trouble thinking of a pose/background though, but I promise I'll get to work as soon as I can ^^ Of course, it'll be nothing compared to what both of you guys can do. x_X
