Actually, I think yours deserves either 2nd or first personally. Don't mean to be offensive, but I agree that the MD logo for first entry isn't all that appealing. I just found it... "eh" and "OK I've seen it and now I'm done looking".
2nd was okay... but still, those two had more time than those that followed the guidelines.. least that's what I think. :/
Yours is something I would actually take the time to look at. It's really creative and I would totally buy a Mountain Dew if it means drinking it and taking the time to just look your art piece detailed by detailed. Yours is so.. chaotic and yet it draws me in I just can't stop looking. :]
Still, at least you did get mentioned in the article/news and won stuff. It's a lovely piece overall. Keep up the good work! :3
