My mom and I are currently reading the Netraptor fanfictions...They're all Sonic the Hedgehog fanfictoins, and many are about the Sonic games. This one was 'Sonic R,' where Sonic and others take place in a racing tournament! One of the tracks was the Stardust Speedway, and when I read the description, it sounded REALLY cool.

Incedentally, that's Spark the Hedgehog there in the background. Another racer.

"The four hurled down the sparkling track. The pavement shown like violet fire. It had a shingled texture, like scales. Lights shown here and there, drilled into the underside of the track, spreading a liquid purple glow, as if underwater. In this way, all the light came from the track itself."

I'm surprised at how well this turned out, actually! My favorite part is still Sonic's eyes, though, and the floating lights.

NOTE: I know the story says violet, ok? But cyan looked better, because purple didn't show up on Sonic. I gave the track purple lights to make up for it.
