Thank you so much Tara ♥️✨💗😽pastels it's a wonderful media it can be messy and sometimes finding the right surface to work on takes some experimenting but I love it they are soft enough to look like oils and love they come in pencils, sticks or pans

What is relatively easy to start off drawing with pastels, just to get used to using them? A simple landscape?

yes definitely landscapes , skies , sea, galaxy ,moon, that sort of drawings
i would recommend if you use pastel sticks they are great for landscaping even portrait
and use pastel pencils for details
