Going to go with a different look now?

Looking to add a slight touch of realism to my
anthro style or rather just making my characters slightlyΒ
truer too their species...slightly less human.
Can't change my style over night,though...lots of sketchesΒ
need to be done.

That's the direction I'm heading, squire!I want my anthro
style to make my characters resemble the species they're based
on a little more.

i liked how they were though, cute and sexy not sure if a feral look will fit your characters, but you surely can try and then decide if you like it

It's not definite that I'll stick to the change but I have wantedΒ
to add a slight feral adjustment to my style for a while.I'll haveΒ
to do a lot of sketching to find the right balance.

Doesnt EJ have enough trouble keeping his hands off Kassey, then you go and make him all extra sexy with this new art style, lol.

Kasey's such a tease with EJ,he may have to fight him
off this time but he'll more likely just embrace him....Kasey's very
good like that.
He may yet become even more sexy since I'm still updating his design.

Your style definitely looks more noticeable now in terms of trying to recognize the changes you're applying. The muzzle looks smaller and narrowed compared to before, and you're definitely brightening some of the previously darker tones a bit. There's more additional detail in the fur, like black-toned tips on the ends of Kasey's ears and scruffier fur along the neck and other areas along the edges of his head. Seems Kasey enjoys carrying his shirt around more nowadays than wearing it when posing for a picture, hah!

Anyway, it's encouraging to see you looking to explore what you can do to keep things fresh and always evolving forward. Great on you, dude!

I made his jaw much more narrow, something I've been meaning to do
with all my characters.I took the grey tone from his inner ears and gave his handsΒ
and arms a dark grey/saffron tone.
I still want to flatten his cranium a little which might mean a reduction in his hair
volume.May fill out his neck more or shorten it slightly as well as shorten his legs.

These changes would apply to my characters, including when I draw yours.
Rosco would have a shorter muzzle and much more narrow jaw, much fluffier neck and a flatter head.Probably slightly more paw-like hands and feet like everyone
will.
Itll be a big change in how I do anthro art but I've wanted to evolve the style for ages, leaning slightly away from the more human way I draw them now.

Ha,he likes to pose shirtless like his creator!

From the sounds of it, it seems like you're wanting to incorporate more...realism...for lack of a better word on my part, and balance that out with the more anthro cartoonist style you've been known for. Shifting away from being too much of that and more leaning towards what your characters might look like if they suddenly jumped off the page into the real world. At least, that's what I think you're aiming for.

He certainly is unabashed about it, isn't he?

That's pretty much what I'm doing. The outline of his grey chest and belly
will probably disappear too,the shape of his head and torso are up for possible changes as well.Maybe smaller eyes too.

Hopefully,if it all goes well I can roll out the new style across my whole catalogue of characters. No guarantee though...I've tried before and haven't been able to stick with it but I hope to succeed this time.

He certainly doesn't care about his lack of a shirt, just the way he likes it!

Heh, meanwhile, I still seem to draw and color like it's 2008 or 2009. It feels strange watching friends evolve and improve when you yourself seem to be stuck way behind, haha!

Well, if anything, show us what some of your mainline characters look like in it. Kasey, Patches, Layne, Ray, the list goes on.

At least he stays true to himself, and that's all anyone can possibly ask!

I suppose it depends on how long it takes to scribble a doodle,I spent mostΒ
of my time scribbling pencil doodles in first couple of years which
filled around 800 pages of (very) cheap sketch pad.

I won't be too drastic on my style changes.I had ideas of much bigger changes
but I won't do that now.I will draw the others with the minor changes soon.

Speaking of drawing,I've actually been working the big comic this weekend.Anytime
a bit of motivation crops up,I have to use it on the main comic...still haven't given it up!

A doodle for me takes a long time to scribble out, especially if I want it to look decent by my standards or use it as a foundation for a bigger drawing. Guess it depends on how much you draw because if you do it often enough, most people are bound to get better the further on they go with it.

I think minor changes are better suited for you, if you ask me. Or with anyone really, at least at first. Jumping to a style that's a far departure from what one is normally accustomed to seeing is a bit jarring to say the least, even if they're good at it. I was looking back at some of your older drawings a day or so ago and definitely thought to myself that you've progressed a lot since 2010...and hope to see some sense of that cartoonist vibe your art gives off still carrying on forward. No doubt about that though!

Heh, well that sounds like great news dude! I haven't written in a few months because of how my health has been going but still continue to think on and off about how to progress the plot. I'd say these characters have had such an effect on me that even I hesitate to leave litter behind thinking of how much Scalez dislikes anytime he sees it happen. Not that I litter often anyway, but it does make me think twice about tossing that empty water bottle or candy wrapper into a sewer these days, haha.
