Description Another in the series of stuff from my college era. I looked through several acre-feet of old portfolios and pulled out maybe 25 drawings that were decent. And then scanned a handful of those. Some are from life drawing classes, some are from my sketchbook, and some were drawn immediately after college. And lastly a self portrait taken from my BFA show.

Karen Allen, circa the first "Indiana Jones" movie.

Acrylic on 15 x 20 inch illustration board.

This is a detail of her face:

My God the eyes are amazing! I saw that movie with a friend when I first went off to college. This picture is incredible...I don't think I've done eyes that good ever...

I don't think I've captured it that good in the eyes. I actually saw Indy Jones at a theater in Vincennes, Indiana with a girlfriend when it came out. Seems like forever ago, but then again it doesn't.

Thanks! Believe it or not those are grey tones. I tried to have it scanned, but it came out really bad. So I photographed it instead. And unfortunately it came out blue-ish.

It's one of those subtle things. You'd never notice it unless you've seen the original.

Thanks!

Acrylic dries like instantly, so it was tough to get those fuzzy tones mixed with the sharp edges.
