She sat there watching from her clifftop perch as the flames, hills over danced and spread, the heat, despite being this far could be felt, a voice deep within her mind told her that the heat was not form the fire, but from shame.

Shame for what she's done, and shame for what she's become and even more shame for what she will undoubtedly do next.

But she could not afford to feel this shame much less anything else.

Sakura had been sitting there for sometime before Deidara, her temporary partner for this mission joined her. She didn't react as his clay creations flew past her to survey the burning carnage before them, nor did she react when small explosions were seen, they could leave no survivors this time, though they knew that such a thing was imposable for such a large village.

and it was just as well that their names were in the bingo books only a few weeks later, though only her shortened name 'Kura' was recorded, not even her hair or eye color were known. Sakura was able to feel a little better, for at least Konoha could keep the memory of her pure.
