At the age of 59, Joanne Summers was content on living the last days of her life by herself. For most of her life, she cared for her 5 children with care and love without ever worrying about her own well being. Due to this, she became overweight and was nicknamed ‘Big Mama’ by her friends and family, but this name didn’t last forever. After all her children left home to lives of their own, she decided to become a janitor in a local research facility. What she never realized was that this facility would also perform advanced genetics to unsuspecting humans.

While at work, she became victim to an unfortunate accident that caused her to lose consciousness. Instead of sending her to the emergency room, she was turned into a guinea pig for a human weapon program. They injected her with an experimental serum that permanently increased her healing capabilities and metabolism to extraordinary levels. Once that was successful, they wired metal claws into her hands but before they implemented the last stage of their program, a mind wipe, she was rescued by superheroes thanks to quick thinking by her children.

Depression hit her hard on her return home. She would stare at her claws bursting out of her fists and slowly retract them in until the pain numbed out. It was thanks to her children once again that snapped her out of it. Her middle child made the suggestion to become a superhero of her own so that no one else ends up a victim like her. After much deliberation, she agrees because staying at home would only make things worse for herself and if she could save someone like her; she would make other families happy as well.
