Here I am as the 12-yr-old version of Kakashi, trying out my costume for the first time in my friend's room. It's a hard costume to wear, but I think it looks awesome!

The first time, I just tried to make them myself by sewing some fabric around cheap sandals, but those didn't work as well as the ones I bought later from qqcosplay.

Ah, that part's kinda wierd. It's actually not that hard though. You just have to play around with the fabric. I bought a piece of really thin stretchy black fabric that wasn't too hard to breathe through and just sewed the sides together to make it like a tube that I can pull over my head. It's hard to get it to look right though. I have this baggy part under my chin, so I have to use safety pins or velcro to tighten it around my neck. I'm sure you'll find something that works for you!

Hehe, thanks. I used a bunch of stuff to make this...X_x Mostly different kinds of fabric, sheet metal, and pvc pipe for the arm guards and sheathe.

I suppose. But anytime I think of it I start thinking of the little unimportant things. Such as, "Is there an appropriate time to brush my teeth?" "When am I supposed to bathe?" "Do I walk everywhere or take a bus or ride a bike?" "Do I need to get a bike?" ...like i said. My mind is half-terrified and thus brings about the most random and completely nonsense things.
Oh! Question! Are all your classes in Japanese? Are they easy to understand? How difficult are the classes?

You get used to it. Besides, there's so much to distract you that you forget about the little things. It's easier than I thought it would be given my horrible Japanese. My only classes that are in Japanese are the speaking class and reading and writing. But even those professors can speak English if they have to. The language classes here are hard! But I got put into level 2, which covers a lot of what I learned already, so it's not so bad. My other classes are just like they would be at home...only more fun

My friend and I have been discussing wether or not to go to Japan as foreign exchange students one day soon. We're really seriously beginning to talk about it. So I apologize for all the questions. But I am really really interested...
Which school are you at in Japan? I think ours offers to let us study at Tokyo U, but I think that's it. I'll have to double-check.
Also, she's learned a lot of hiragana, katakana, and kanji. I know next to none. My Japanese classes focus more on the language as it is spoken. Any suggestions on things to know?

I'm at Kansai Gaidai. You don't really need to know much to get by, but it's easier if you've taken at least two years of Japanese. People around here don't expect you to know much as a foreigner, but it's good to be able to at least say thank you and ask for things politely.
