I like how you made his uniform more like proper Trek. I must admit I was impressed with Pine's portrayl of Kirk...just not so much the writers writing of Kirk.

Perfect. Maybe a little too much contrast with the eyes, but you know what? Whatever. It works. This whole painting is just beautiful. The colours are so warm and you've done everything just right.
Only thing I would change is his forehead; it's taller than it is in the ref photo and throws off the proportions of his face a little.
