Description Look at that beak! It's insane! It's like some sort of stabby needle or something.

There's a certain nobility about his pose here, I think. This was taken a fraction of an instant before he flew away.

Photo taken near Canmore, Alberta.

I really like these little birds. I want to hold them and pet them, even though I shouldn't. XD

This one might poke holes in you! Watch out!

I'm scared to hold little birds, myself. They seem so fragile and I worry about breaking them.

good point. I guess I got my desire from holding a cardinal that had flown into our bay windows. It was winter, so I held him in a towel until he got over the shock, and he flew away pretty sturdily afterward, so I don't think he hurt his spine or internal organs. :\

Maybe when I'm older I'll have to do the bird rescue from all those birds that fly into sky scraper windows! xD

I would love to work someplace like a bird rescue! It would be awesome. I remember finding an injured crow on the side of the road once. It looked like it may have been hit by a car. It wasn't externally injured, but it couldn't fly. So we threw a jacket over it and carefully took it home, put it in a box, and drove it to the 24 hour vet clinic. I've often wondered if it survived.
