Description
Finished, and retouched the colors,Taitskri for ~Drunken-Cat
his fetlocks are white, but the tall grass gobbled them up lol
UPDATE: Work in Progress (will be replacing this fjord with another, im not completly satisfied with how he looks)

I completley FAILED on the first one, I thought I had the instructions, I had purged my journals, and lost the description I was given... clearly it was a massacre
Anyway, here is the updated version of Taitsrik,
(~Drunken-Cat if it's still not to your liking, I'll scrape the horse ,keep the background, and try again
)This is my trade with ~Drunken-Cat
She asked me to draw her a fjord, with blue hair and a baldface marking. It was a new challenge, fjords are have a way different structure than what I was use to. Anyways, he looks kind of cartoony, *sigh* I wasn't going for that :/
Anyways, finally, I was able to make a background! I read up on using brushes, and was able to get some lush grass out of it in the end.
Please excuse the clouds, I'm still a beginner

forgot to mention; can you wait till your next taitsrik drawing until I´ve painted him myself first? I´ve just started to write the backround-story for him and his persona is now coming more clear

The Fjord does look sososo much better than the last, it's way more realistic and way more like a Fjord should be. Everything in this picture is fantastic, keep it up!!!

Aw thank you!! I had to change the fjord, I found the other one to be a bit unsettling lol. I started the first bit of the background for you, basically to get an idea of what I want to do, ots going to be fun! Now is dheyna is going to be great to draw, what type of brush do you use for his markings?

Oh my GOSH this is AMAZING!!!! Your backgrounds suddenly took a huge leap!
The colors are absolutely amazing, and that grass. Wow. The rippling effect you got looks so phenomenal I can't stop staring at it! It's so pretty!
Your sense of depth has really developed as well, the way the hill rolls and fades into the mountains in the distance is really well done. The tree looks great too!
The clouds look pretty nice, but you might want to make them look a bit more "inflated." *can't think of a better word* The only thing I can see that looks cartoony is the mouth. It might look more realistic if it was just a thin line, and a little longer around the side of his face. Does that make sense?
Anyway, this is fabulous, and that background is is stunning. Everything is! I can't wait to see the finished piece. XD

I've seen something similiar on *Losmios 's blog too, actually only when I saw these early WIPs, I somewhat began to understand the composition of those kind of backgrounds

Yes! see I Was headed in a different direction, and I saw her blog, and asked her about the coloring, and it kind of helped me in a way, also, theres a few links on my journal with a load of tutorials that really helped me

Dear this DOES look lovely but some major things have gone wrong here from what I told you about Taitsrik´s looks
1)the basecolour of his fur should have been darkBLUE
2)the mane and tail: brighBLUE with BLACK stripe
3)a fjord´s mane is ment to be cutted so it stands up, making it easier for the stripe to show. So obviously I assumed you understood Taitsrik´s mane looks like any other fjord´s, just with different colour.
It´s still a beatiful peace, but sadly not what I described to you.

Actually! I really am unsettled with how the horse looks versus the background, I want to draw another fjord, but I need a few key points, is there a certain mood you would like him to have? a certain way the mane flows? a certain pose (rearing, standing)
I want to take it back to bit more realism, and would you like the blue on his coat to be darker?

I think the base darkblue here is now perfect, but remember to leave the fetlocks in his feet white

This is fab Karli, it looks terrific! You managed to get a eal sems eof depth into the image, there'smovement in the composition that swirls in on itself, creating a very nice centerpoint/focus around the fjord! And I think you pulled the grasses of very well indeed, and the clouds look great, so don't excuse them!
