Description I've used the book "Remorques" by Roger Versel - 1935 - to create this new book sculpture.
For this one, I wanted with this half boat to give the impression of a boat escaping from the book and coming to life.
Illustrations have been cut in the book's pages.
About 30 working hours.
UV protection.
Available for sale.

This also reminds me of Moby Dick. I think it'd go well for that story as well.

You're most welcome and I thank you for the greeting. I first went to France when I was 6 weeks old and then every year for a 3 week holiday until I was 11. And then no more My family moved to Australia when I was 15 and I've been here ever since. So I remember France and her people fondly, with images of bread sticks and bicycles and street-side cafes.
So hello also to you and your family from still sunny

I've been all around France - we went to a several different places each year, usually moving every few days. We also went into Italy quite a bit and a few times to Switzerland, Monaco, Belgium, Germany and all around that area. Never to Spain for some reason though. I've been to Paris only once that I remember. My most vivid memory is the trees down the sides of the long roads that flash the sun in and out of your eyes as you drive along and the occasional man standing at one Oh how I wish I had a 'handy pouring spout' too LOL
No apology needed about our big rock, and it comes with 2 names anyway - Ayers Rock or Uluru. I've only ever seen one big spider in 41 years of living here. It cost me $5 to get my then 13 year old son to catch it in a large yogurt tub and take it outside. He put it in the green wheelie bin, shut the lid and put a brick on the top LOL

There are some beautiful place in France and i'm please if you keep good memories !
As for the spiders you're lucky ! Just one in 41 years, i've seen more in my house lol And you are lucky because 5$ the spider, you would have some money problems !
Gonna see your January's Journal !

You are right LOL I've seen many small spiders, but only 1 large one. That's funny yes, I would have money problems if I saw many big spiders
