Prompt:
- 1. One of the puppies in your tokota’s pack (or tribe) has lost its parents, and no one seems prepared to step in and care for it during the harsh winter months when food is already so scarce. Until the puppy is old enough to care for itself, your tokota must nurture it and answer its needs.

It was a blustery day, but Blu knew they needed to push on and find shelter. Sleeping and existing out in the open was not good for such a young pup. Sure it worked for Blu, the large fluffy no one will ever mess with me mass of tokota. For Moana though it was cold and anyone could snatch him if he scooted even slightly away from the dire. Blu lead the pup into the forest. Fallen trees, an out cropping of rocks, anything would be wonderful. In this birch forest it seemed even sparser than where they originated. Blu lifted his head, but as far as he could see it was just more birch. He turned to one of the trees pushing on it. Even if one fell over they certainly couldn’t hide under it. He felt Moana lean up against him with a slight shiver. He lowered his head nuzzling the pup. “Let’s pick up our pace. It will warm you up.” He told the tiny blue pup. Motion caught Blu’s eyes and for a brief second he swore a white stag was watching over them. He blinked and the deer was gone. Moana didn’t seem to notice and nodded jogging forward at the suggestion. Blu just took slightly larger steps. He couldn’t help, but check over his shoulder to catch another glimpse of the deer. They could use a nice meal, but astral deer might not taste well.
Time passed slowly as they passed through the birch forest. All the trees looked the same and the ground was barren. Blu would think they were walking in circles if it wasn’t for the snow keeping marking their tracks. Blu never saw the deer again and gave up looking. Moana was slowing down. The pup was probably getting tired. He leaned down suddenly grabbing his scruff and lifting the pup off the ground for a break. It took nearly another hour before Blu saw an evergreen. He had never been so happy to see some green. He would have ran and hugged the tree if Moana wasn’t half asleep in his maw. He trotted up to it instead smiling at the needles. The wind pushed the tree as if it was welcoming him to the new end of the forest. He had a good feeling about this place. It did not take long to be surrounded by the trees. A rocky face rose up out of the ground and eventually was tall enough to form a cave. Blu happily climbed up to the entrance. It wasn’t easy, but he tested smells holding onto Moana. He was pretty sure nothing was currently living in the cave. He only went a few steps in before laying down and setting Moana on his paws. The pup immediately moved into his mane curling up against his chest. It wasn’t the warmest swinging through the air. Blu smiled looking down at the pup. It might be a long winter, but with their new home things were looking up.
