Nero from the video game probably wouldn't have cared much even at the end, but this comic is set a year after, so presumably stuff has happened in between this time that has strengthened Dante and Nero's relationship.

It's not that I don't like them, just the opposite actually. It's just sometimes I see interactions between characters like between Nero and Dante that seem a little off because of character developments that I never saw happen in the games. Knowing that a year has passed between DMC4 and your comic doesn't make Nero'sย personality change seem strange any more to me.

Your welcome๐ I've always look forward to look at your artwork and comics, but let me ask something to one Dmc fan to another do you honestly believe, that crapcom (aka) capcom can ever give us a true devil may cry game.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: They've never had a good handle on the Devil May Cry series, starting with a complete failure to keep and maintain a consistent tone, let alone a consistent story. This is the reason why they chose to reboot it, but the reboot was arguably terrible considering what the expectation was and it kind of ruined the franchise for the company and its fans. The Special Edition was a vague attempt to squeeze out more money from this dying cash cow and it barely expanded upon the story, it was basically a "let's colour swap some characters and stick some updated animation frames from DMC3 onto a modified Dante and call it Vergil", something that probably took two people a week to do. A proper game that would give this series justice would not sell as well as a proper game that would do a new series justice, so it's not worth injecting that much money into. Finally, Capcom has a history of being REALLY SHITTY at properly handling extended franchises, see Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

It's a hard story to properly understand without experiencing the games, and I guess that speaks a lot to my bad storytelling, that I didn't make sure it would be easy to follow even without previous knowledge, but I'm glad this strip in particular is somewhat self explanatory
