Antwerp, September 10th 2015Cathedral of Our Lady, built between 1352 and 1521, as seen from the Groenplaats adjacent to it.
... I'm ashamed to admit that I'm so used to seeing our cathedral, that I seem to have forgotten how impressive it looks to someone not used to the sight. >.>

The official name of the cathedral in English is Cathedral of Our Lady, as it is devoted to Mary, who is commonly referred to as "Our Lady" in English (or "Notre Dame" in French).

Great light and focus, composition excellent, and, yes, it is a really beautiful building. Β I hope it wasn't mauled too badly in the 20th Century's wars.

It remained oddly untouched in either of the two World Wars, although it got its portion of mauling in the Cathedral fire of 1533, the Protestant Iconoclasms of 1566 and 1581, and during the French Revolutionary rule of 1794-1815...
