OMG.. lineless???? whattt..fhwegdjjwjfin case u didnt already know, this is a character named Tack, and hes from a movie called The Thief and the Cobbler.
its one of the saddest stories in the history of animation: basically this guy Richard Williams spent almost 30 years making this movie the Theif and the Cobbler, and when he was almost done his funders cut him off, and Miramax took his work and added in REALLY ( i mean really) bad animations, songs, and voice-overs to purposely mute characters.
And as much as it saddens me to say this, yes, aladdin copied this movie BIGG TIME. since a lot of the workers went from richard williams to disney studios, they took a lot of the ideas, too.
This movie is EXTREMELY under-appreciated, so please please just whatch a minute of a version thats the closest we have to Williams' original intention: [link]

Great post of Tack! I first heard about this film from a Nostalgia Critic review. It's sad this film has yet to be proporly completed.

This is my FAVORITE childhood movie. There's like barely and plot to it and it's so damn trippy! But, hey, I loved it and Tak so seeing this made me extremely happy. Very nice work!

oh, the original miramax version is a total butcher of the original. the orginal got taken over by Miramax and they addeed voiceovers and crappy songs. ;(

Haha, great drawing! I love his pose and expression. It reminds me of the scene with the Mad and Holy Old Witch, after she announces that Tack is going to save the city. He's like, "Who, ME?!

Not an animation student myself (just an animation fan!) but I know what you mean. It's such a sad and frustrating story! And when you watch the Recobbled Cut and see what exists of the movie, and then imagine what it would have been like if it were complete....

ahhh gosh!! we talked about it in my animation class, and i saw the recobbled cut first. Then i watched the first 10 min of the miramax version and was like nYYEGHHHH. After the first song i just couldnt watch the rest..it was so painful. It couldve been such a revolutionary piece of animation if it was finished..

Yeah, I've heard Yum-Yum's song from that movie. Terrrrible. And I saw the chase scene on Youtube as well, and oh man that was some bad dialogue. "Stop, in the name of King Nod!" Really, Miramax? Really??? It sounded like Matthew Broderick wasn't even trying! And then the cheesy sound effects that were like something from a Saturday morning cartoon... Eugh.
Indeed, the finished product would have been incredible! It would have been legendary, I'm sure of it. Alas, we'll just have to settle for "cult favorite" status.

yeah..i couldn't get that far..that chase scene is so gorgeous in the recobbled, i dont want to whatch anything else. Besides, for most of the dialogue, the expressions on the characters where so expressive that you could tell thats what they where thinking anyways..especially with the thief.

Well, I only saw it because I thought it was the Recobbled chase scene! Then the dialogue came in and I realized my mistake. I kept watching out of morbid curiosity. 
Yes, exactly! The animation is so expressive that you don't even need dialogue. Even with good voice acting and well written dialogue, it would still be unnecessary. But nooo, we got bad voice acting and terrible dialogue, so it was extra-unnecessary.
I was surprised, too. We know he can do good voice acting (he was Simba, for crying out loud!), so I dunno what his problem was in this one. (My only-half-joking theory: I think he got rejected for the role of Aladdin and was butthurt about it.

omg, i saw that avatar movie too. My friend and i went to go see it and we both grew up with avatar, and when we saw the movie where like MY CHILDHOOD. IS RUINED. wow, i didnt know that either!! ferris bueler= tack and simba ? looll

Total waste of time, wasn't it? The Last Airbender was literally the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. It was just awful. And I adore the series, so it pains me that this movie even exists.

I watch the princess and the cobbler, the arabian knight and the recobbled edition. I guess the recobbled version was really great....Agree2x..thief and the cobbler is really under appreciated T_T

i havnt seen the princess and the cobbler version, but i watched the recobbled version first and after that i watched a few minutes of the arabian knight and nearly died..its soo under appreciated! and the animations so gorgeous..so sad

the princess and the cobbler is the musical version...and tack can also talk. In the arabian knight both tack and the thief can talk. I saw this film when I was 5. As I got older, I really forgot the title...Im just glad that the recobbled version came out on youtube..coz the original is always the best XD
