A bubbly and curious fish. Naoko is a bit of an airhead, quite dim as well, but she seems perfectly aware of her stupidity and might often point it out to others. Life in itself confuses her, and she possesses little to no life skills. Due to this, she is often very attached to those who can take care of her basic needs, very much sticking to them like super glue.

Despite her stupidity, she does possess something of a brain to make acknowledgments to events and people... enough to even point out someone's obvious rudeness or flaws. Not that she fully acknowledges it enough to act upon it though.
She's very expressive with her emotions, albeit seeing her pissed off and angry is very rare. She's simply too pure to be able to harbor any ill feelings towards most people.

The only reason why she seems to be able to remember her weaving skills as well as she does is that it seems to be muscle memory for her. Weaving seems to act as some sort of soother for her emotions, if she's ever angry or fussy of course.

Though, with how dumb and wreckless she acts for a full grown adult, you start to wonder if she's truly stupid, or if she's playing everyone for a fool.....

⚬⚪History:⚪⚬

Naoko doesn't quite remember much of her childhood... She just remembers her caretakers in the orphanage telling her she was found in a woven basket piled on-top of different silk threads and a very neatly folded fabric blanket with an intricate pattern.
But, left to her own devices with the other children, they often picked on her for her species, and even more when they learned she couldn't read or interpret things as well as the others. She didn't do much to counteract them, and besides the caretakers, she didn't know how to fend them off for good. She spent most of her time ignoring them, tussling with them, or being confused by their gestures, so instead her attention focused in on the old little wooden dusty weaver sitting in the corner of the building. After expressing her curiosity to one of the caretakers, a young milotic by the name of Ayu. The equipment was cleaned, and she sat her down, and helped her through the process with weaving her first square of fabric with the resources found with her in her basket. It was a colorful but messy little sheet, but it was her 1st one. She held onto it dearly.

Very much soothed and pleased by the process, this was where the young magikarp spent most of her time, happily weaving away and producing small squares at a time. Often times, she spent her time around Ayu, as it seemed she was the kindest out of all the caretakers, and she was the one who stepped in to stop the bullying whenever it happened when she could. That.... and, she made really good food. One of her favorites being onigiri.

As she grew older, and other kids were being adopted out, it seemed she was the only one who was never going to get adopted. it was something else for the kids to pick on the poor girl over. But she never minded, she kept herself busy weaving. Time passed, so did Naoko's 16th birthday. The milotic caretaker eventually left the small community, leaving the magikarp to herself. And of course Naoko was devastated that her only friend left her side, but alas, kept to herself. Of course, the banter from the kids went on, and time went on intill a few months later... Ayu came back, decked out in plenty of beautiful expensive fabrics and other accessories. Coming in, she adopted the young magikarp, and becoming her new guardian, took her off to her new home.

More ecstatic then ever, Ayu quickly settled Naoko down into her home, and informed her of her state and future task she'd like for her to accomplish... mastering weaving. It seemed the milotic had taken over a family business in weaving, and now wanted Naoko to hone her skills so that she could one day take it into her own hands. Naoko obeyed willingly, and often sat down with the woman, at a brand new weaver nonetheless- and worked on her craftsmanship. Ayu even hired a scholar.... well, multiple scholars to come and teach the magikarp, but it seemed no matter how hard these teachers tried, they just couldn't teach Naoko, she was just too dimwitted for any and all of the lessons they tried to teach her. Though, they did note that she had JUST brain cells to solve occasional problems here and there, but they thought nothing of it.

The milotic was appalled by the fact that Naoko couldn't cook to save her life. She burnt alot of things, even WATER and the POT itself. She was confused by how she couldn't handle some of even the most basic tasks, but sat there and remembered every little detail there was to weaving. She had a creeping suspicion about this girl, but brushed it off. The magikarp eventually opened up, expressing a bubbly happy personality to anyone who came to visit or whoever she hung out with, or just talked to her in general.... though, it seemed her dumbness definitely shone, ... strangely enough, if they ever pointed it out to her, it prompted annoyed retorts from her stating that "they were pointing out the obvious". These kinds of brief moments of awareness to her own character also appalled people, but, it seemed as fast as she smartens up, she goes back to being an absolute dimwit.

Once she became an adult, she abruptly announced to Ayu that she was going off to start herself a life elsewhere and explore around abit, try out her craft in different places, and that when the time came for her to inherit the Weaving business, to hit her up... the Milotic was... very much concerned about letting her little dumbass out into the world, but it seemed Naoko was confident on her abilities to survive. So, after some heartfelt goodbyes, the magikarp scurried off.
As Ayu watched Naoko leave, she silently questioned what exactly went on in the magikarp's mind.
