Here is the continuation of my previous illustrations. I chose to name this character "Aoi". Those who knows a bit of japanese will surely understand that I did not took a lot of time to find this name! Because it means "Blue".Voici la suite de mes illustrations précédentes. J'ai décidé d'appeler ce personnage "Aoi". Ceux qui connaissent un peu le japonais vont surement comprendre que je n'ai pas cherché longtemps pour trouver ce nom! Puisque ça veut dire "Bleue".

It's funny how older pics, ones we've moved on from as our skills improve can continue to be useful from time to time.
Looking at it again, I agree this makes a good reference for it, and I'll admit I missed the blush when I first looked at it. I feel that is a nice touch considering how close the camera is. It gives her a degree of shyness which I think works.

That's the fun of OCs in my eyes. I feel it's easier to add something new to a character and help develop them as time goes on and your art and tastes change and evolve. I look forward to seeing more of her in the future.

Heh. That was actually a reference to the anime Ai Yori Aoshi, which also has a blue-haired character named Aoi. The title means "Bluer Than Indigo" and it comes from a Japanese saying: "blue comes from indigo, but blue is bluer than indigo".

I do know japanese a bit, but I didn't know that Ai was indigo!
