Description I've been taking 3D modeling classes (using Maya 2010) for a several months now, but I haven't acually put up any of my work. High time I did that. Not to mention, considering that my last deviation upload was in May of '10, it's time to put up something new as well.

Anyway, here is the Command Wolf AC from Zoids. Project was to model a hard model, like a robot or car, something that wasn't organic. I chose to model a Zoid. It was difficult to do, but I'm very proud of the end result. There are still lots of small details that I can still add in, like grooves and extra plates, but everything that needs to be there is.

I do plan to complete this with all those extras, and maybe a UV Texture, but not right now. When I do, I'll put that up, probably with a proper background as well.

There is also a posed image of this here .

Modeling done by myself.

That is awesome! You certainly got the shape right! Is it rigged at all? Would be awesome to see it move!

Thanks. No it's not rigged. I didn't know how to do that when I made this. I don't know if I ever will (rigging is hard for me), but yeah, it would look cool.

fair enough! Rigging is very difficult! But it would look so cool if you could rig and animate it!

Oh, and the gun barrels are a little small.

Very nice for learning how to model, I want to learn someday, I can model in Autodesk inventor very well, because I take engineering classes. And I have been working on a zoid. We will see. But yup, only suggestion I have is MORE POLYGONS AND HIGH RESOLUTION! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Thanks. Modeling is very fun for me. My teacher said the same about it needing more quads and tris in some areas, but I was running out of time near the end, and just wanted to get at least the bare bones of it finished, so I left those places as is. That's the same reason for the size of the gun barrels. I was focusing more on the length and shape with them rather than the diameter. A more detailed one will be coming one day, just not right now.

Thanks. And I certainly plan to keep it up (and hopefully get better at the same time).
