Description Shakti (Timber wolf) enjoying the full force of winter. She might look cold to us (especially with the frozen lashes), but wolves are made for temperatures much colder than this. She can be comfortable in -20 degrees F. The only part of her body that is exposed is her nose. So, to keep warm, the wolves sleep curled up in a ball with their tail covering their nose. Neat, huh?

Nice shot. Both wolf and surrounding is great.
Also, useful info regarding their endurance.

Thanks! I actually just saw one of our animals curl up in a ball this evening. Guess that is a clear sign that winter is fast approaching.

You're welcome !From what I've been able to observe at canines is that they do something similar or just seem to foretell similar events. But it's quite interesting

Nice picture! I may use this as my background! Also I didn't know wolves did that to protect their noses from the cold.

Thanks! Yes, it is amazing what adaptations wolves have to hunt and survive.
