Who told you that? At my school, seniors have to get a certain amount of volunteer hours for their civics/econ class (which is required for seniors).

Alright, the "who" was kinda rhetorical anyway. XD
Maybe? I'm pretty sure it's a state standard in California (where I am) and our states all have different standards. Then of course there are school district standards, college standards, and individual school standards. No clue what civics points (volunteer hours) would fit in (probably not college standards).

But in all honesty, our school system is pretty messed up. We're being transitioned into some common core system.... laying off good teachers.... Keeping BAD teachers.... yeah.
