I like that the replica has an almost caricature look to it. Sweet nonetheless.
You can always tell a replica because builders don't want to drop $10,000 on original wheels.

Your Countach pic looks cool but its a replica. I once came across a black one I thought was real at first too. Check out this site of replica Lambo Diablos and Countachs [link] The Countach is a kit car built on a Pontiac Fiero chassis.

Interesting. How do you tell? I love the cars but dont know them well enough to tell a replica from the real deal. And isnt that kindof illegal? I mean it seems like lambo would frown upon that. I must say the idea of looking like a lambo but rolling in a pontiac chassis....*coughcompensatingforsomethingcough*.

The biggest giveaway is the rear fender flare. The real one is more angular. Also, the 25th Anniversary Countach is the only one that looks like it has a vent in the fender flare (because it does), but it also has Testarossa-like strakes that lead to that vent, which this doesn't have.
Also, this looks like it slopes upward toward the rear, which the real Countach doesn't.
Generally, it's a fake. It's registered as whatever the donor chassis is from, it's basically just a coachbuilt whatever-it-is, most likely a Pontiac Fiero. Some of the inaccuracies are probably included for the sole purpose of avoiding cease-and-desist letters from Lamborghini's legal department.

This, for example, is what a real 25th Anniversary Countach looks like: [link]
Also note that the Hyundai wing on the real one (it's called a Hyundai wing because the cost to replace it was greater than the cost of a new Hyundai motor car at the time) looks more functional and less cartoonish than the one in your submission.

Well, you can tell the difference if you look closely at the details/lines/wheels/etc. Today's kit cars are impressive but in the case of the Countach the dimensions are just not quite right (perhaps to fit the short wheel base of a Pontiac Fiero). There is one kit car that I think is worth buying; made by Beck. They make beautiful classic Porsche replicas. [link] The 550 Spyder is identical to the car James Dean died in and they made so few that an authentic one today is literally worth millions of dollars. Here's a pic of one I saw. [link]

No, it does not look like a DeLorean DMC12. It looks sort of like a Lamborghini Countach... but it isn't one of those, either.

Actually youre right. After I submitted it I looked at it, and scratched my head for a second, looked at another shot and the other shot said Countach. Thanks.
