This is my first ever Tsukihime fanart
. I know my drawing doesn't exactly look like Arcueid, but I'm trying to get it right. Well anyways, it's been a while since I posted something, and so I figure, what the heck, blow off doing my Electrical Engineering homework--evil class that has no connectiong to what I'm studying--and DRAW

Very cool pice. I honestly like your pic the way it is. You slimed down the face for a cute and gentle look. Pluse you used brighter shades of colors to give a softer look. Love the lighting effect. The background is aswome. Hope you plan on drwing more of because I really like this pic. Better yet here is an offical pic([link] ) I like how you drew the eye's on your pic better the official art. The presentation on you pic alot more. The official art looks all morbidly depresing. I hope you keep making more your art rocks.

awh.. you finally finished it. good job. How'd you do that kind of lining? the kind without the big bold black lines that define everything? I need to learn that so my stuff doesnt look so...Lined....

HAIR.
So you have posted another pic! 
Let's see...I feel like there could be more light detail on the blue skirt. The color detail on the moon is excellent, but the edges, especially on the right, seem to be kinda bendy. The two white lines on the largest part of her hair stand out too much. It might be better if they were more subtle.
I want to see more of the recent anime... ;_; Is Tsukihime a good bet?
And I love that hair. Mine isn't *quite* that long.

Thanks for the critique. Yeah, I was trying out something with the hair, but it seems like it's a bit hard to get the effect that I wanted. I'm thinking of reverting back to my pencil line scans because the neat lines don't really fit my style of coloring (I think). Compared to my Kazuki pic, I rather like the lines in that one better then in this one, but I like the color better in this one :s so I suppose I'll have to make a decision sooner or later

Nifty outfits are always good. And I haven't tried doing lines in Photoshop except to patch some things up. I have to learn more ways of doing things.

Oh, the little light thingies? In photoshop I used a fuzzy brush (one of those defaults) and selected the size that I wanted, and then using the normal layer setting, I selected a color--for example blue--and clicked once with the brush. Then changing the brush color to white and placed the brush in the same position over the colored spot and then clicked once so that the white is over the color spot, showing just a little color behind it. It's easier if you use hot keys--the key to change color on the palette is "x" -- to change between 2 colors.
