Description
This beast was the villain in a story idea that I had some time in my teenage years. The story never got past the initial concept, but hey, at least it was an excuse to invent an exotic character.Ragira is definitely a monster - bloodthirsty, malicious and deceitful.
She's a shapeshifting alien who, in that old story idea, came aboard a spaceship disguised as a beautiful and charming young humanoid woman.
Some poor crewman had fallen in love with that disguise during shore leave, and so she was invited to travel with them.
But later during the night shift, when most of the crew was asleep, she changed back to her hunting form (which you see in this painting) and started devouring them, one by one.
And due to her shapeshifting ability, the crew would not connect the dots for a while. After all, they would be looking for something with big teeth and claws, not that sweet young lady...
