Forces of Evil encounter Forces of Good in a dark dungeon. But before arms can clash, both sides face a rather serious obstacle - the chicken trap. Whoever steps into the small ditch on the floor, will be magically turned into a harmless chicken ...
This work looks like a tribute to the game "Dungeon Keeper." I think the game quite much stood out amongst other similar games, opposing widely used theme "be a hero, beat the monsters and save the world".
Can't say I am very happy with the overall result. I tried isometric view this time, but didn't manage to draw all the characters according to the view. But I learned a bit about Gimp Paint Studio and it's brushes, so I guess it wasn't total waste after all

Yeah, the game was really awesome, and this be-a-dungeon-lord-instead-of-a-hero concept made it really a unique and captivating piece.
I wonder whether game's contemporary successorsΒ War for the Overworld Β and Dungeons Β follow the same spirit.

Good question, I played both, War for the Overworld and Dungeons....Dungeons is quite more modern game, but it has a very small content...there are maybe 7 maps, and it too repetitive...War for the Overworld is less modern, but still pretty, but the mechanics and everything is nearly same as in Dungeon Keeper so its very cool game... I like it 300% more than Dungeons...

It depends. When chickens manage to stay inside the wicked chicken trap (like in this picture), there is a fair chance that they won't be eaten - everyone who tries it, will end up being chicken him/herself ... So the only threat for them is the keeper. But I'm sure the keeper has better things to do than mess with the chicken

Yooooo this is sick! your a top dude man, this was one of my favorite games on PC, played DK2 aqswell but it doesnt compare to the first one, the second one was ridiculously easy too.
I used to love slapping them chickens to explode!
And collecting gold was soo crazy, i used to hoard that, torture and cap the badguys! make tons of dragons! But my favorite has t be the ultimate bile demons, they were ROCK

I agree that DK one was better than DK2. I think DK2 had some nice "bells and whistles" like cutscenes and slightly better graphics, but in the variety of gameplay, it did not offer much improvement. There were less creatures in DK2, which I consider the major drawback.

yeah much less creatures, and you could make them elite units by designing the rooms according to wahts needed to summon em. Man once you get an elite angel, thats basically it, you are invincible. Just cast posess on it and then you can kill pretty much everything, i swear i beat near all the main bosses in 1v1 with using possess. Inface even DK1 possess was a bit overpowered somehow, if you didnt use posess then most likely the unit would die, bu if yo cast poses you ca pretty muc kill anything, so dumb man.
So wish they made a DK3 there not a game in the market like it at all!

Yeah. Although, there are some current attempts to revive the game, for example - a Chinese company is developing Dungeon Keeper MMO ([link] ) and a German company develops something quite similar to DK ([link] [link] ). The future will tell, whether they manage to compete with the original.

Whoa ive never see those games, hey actually do look promising! The first one seems cool wiht the comncept art, but im not sure how an MMo will work for it.
The kalypso made ones look flippin great too, the teaser seems exactly how DK1 starts! man thi is flippin sick, next year will be an awesome year for PC gaing if it is like dungeon keeper, i will be playin this non stop then diablo 3! a perfect trip back to the notalgia pc gaming days buut everything killer improved!

I think "humor slips in" is the right phrase to describe it, as I am usually aiming to do more of a serious stuff
