I'm so into the feathers! People hardly ever use male angles like that... that's also why I like it.
The only thing that does not really fit is the difference between the wings and the person, the wings seem to be more drawn while that guy is quite real -- above all

yes I agree this was done a before I learned some new tecniques and so isn't my best work, also my computer crashed taking most my art with it so I can't very easily go back and fix the problem. But thank you and yes I agree I noticed that too thanx again

lol, no everyones entitled to an opinion and just because you don't do this type of work doesn't mean you can't see fault. I am a terrible actor but a great director, just because I can't act doesn't mean I am unable to be a whitness and tell when someone else is having a problem

I feel that way towards some things but its usually work i have no interest in to begin with like five year old anime junk people post, I say I can't judge cuz its nicer then saying just stop trying it looks like shit. Also I very rarely see anime i have any interest in.

Yes I definately think your style if far from anime. I would say its more like graphic cartoon type work, not sure how to describe it but graphic is the closest I can think of. I concider anime to be the terrible little crippled is a nice way to put it sketches people ask me to comment on. All the Sailor Moon fan art little kids attempt to copy. Problem is they all do the same five characters all in the exact same styles in the exact same positions with no artistic thought put into it, and most quite bad copies. Although this is true with all styles I am just biased towards amine sinse I see it most often in that style. I know there are a thousand artists on this site better then me but i am always trying to learn new styles and perfect what i do know. So it anoys me when I see people posting snapshots of their friends and five minutes sketches of their favorite cartoon characters and ask for comments and favs as if it were art and not just disposable camera photos and copy's of some other cartoonist work. I've done a couple fan arts but they are original positions and I spend serious time on them, that I respect but most people don't put that kind of effort into there work. Not saying everyone needs to be outstanding but I do think you should have respect for the original artists and for everyone who's viewing it and take the time to really make your work nice, to redo it and redo it until it is as good as you can make it then go back in a year and look at it again to perfect it once they know more. Just my rant sorry

Don't excuse - all I can say is
I mean, I also started with doing other peoples work but I never traced and I always tried to make the characters at least a bit different and I would never say "This is mine"
I still use some pics as reference - at least, when I'm a bit burnt out and can't come up with new ideas myself - but I am also able to do poses myself so I daresay I'm not like that (I know, you never said that, don't get me wrong, just my point of view

Yeah, I started that way too and still on ocasion copy other characters but theres a difference between doing your own work and practicing or having fun with other things and exclusively doodling inyuasha characters.... and I don't see anything resembling that in yo0ur work.... thats just one of my pet peeves....

this si a great work, i love the touches of light of the wings, it creates a mystasyum that is near perfect. His expresstion is also wonderful, but i'm not sure about his hand in the forfront, i beelive the angle of it is confusing to the eye. ZI'd shoe either more of or less of the hand to avoid this.

Love the metallic looking wings and different colored eyes. The brightness of the wings attract a lot of focus that kind of take away from his face, I'd suggest making the guy more glowy (perhaps desaturate his skin?).

Simple yet beautiful. the light intensity really came out nice and the contrast to the darkness of the guy + plus the two-toned color eyes are a good addon.
Could of used a little bit more on the picture. A little creative. Even though it's simple. Bring in something for originality. Other than that. Great job!
