This is awesome, I love how you drew Grimlock here. So many awesome incarnations, (and some not so awesome), I really like the middle three that are Age of Extinction, G1, and Animated, those are some of them most interesting designs. If you ask me, the odd one out is the one from RiD, where he's an Excavator, he didn't seem like any other incarnation of Grimlock in the least. There were other versions where he was a vehicle, but but at least then, he was still trying to be the essence of the real Grimlock.
But really awesome collection, you drew all of them quite well.Β

Yes, he originally was known as Build Hurricane. Which explains why he is the odd one out.

Odd that they gave the Grimlock name to him, unless they just needed to maintain the Copyright on the name, and 'Build Hurricane' served as a placeholder so they could still use the name in later releases? It would be one thing if he was somehow another form of beast, or otherwise savage, but a calm excavator is an odd choice.Β

Probably copyright reasons. Build Hurricane is the japanese name.

Yeah, I know, I worded that wrong, I put 'Buid Hurricane' in quotes to mean the character himself, not the actual name, Build Hurricane became a standin for Grimlock when they needed a place to put the Grimlock name so they wouldn't lose the right, at least, that's my best guess.Β
