But yeah, more FR comics! This time about exalting, since it's one main part of the game~ It's funny how people see it killing, though it's said that they're sent to serve the deity.
Also, the name drama with Krii was just so silly.
But exalting can be nice too

My one is that of course it's an honour to leave the clan to serve deity, but how they serve the deity depends on who they're sent to. Like Stormy just hoards more workers and maybe part of Plague-exaltees ends up in rituals for making new diseases.

Unfortunately, I did immediately jump to the "killing" conclusion when I first knew of exalting. Something about how "going to meet your maker" is a euphemism for death. Some of the Plague clans RP it that way as well - though I must say I much prefer your version with the diseased-fungus-cupcakes!

I can only imagine her taking care of those dragons born from disease, and make them all healthy again! Gotta help those poor things, they sneeze and cough all the time, and have those weird diseased red eyes..

Though two different things, I guess some people think exalting is the same as a blood sacrifice like ancient cultures were known to do for their gods for various reasons. I like to think that each god treats the exalted dragons differently; Arcanist (who I have sent a few proud dragons to) has them assist in his studies as they learn the secrets of the universe, Flamecaller teaches the ancient and forgotten arts of smithing and other metal works, Earthshaker tells of the history of before as he ponders what and how to bring the others together in peace, etc..

Hm... True that... Especially when various dragons are exalted in a week... But personally I wouldn't mind if they really were killed.

Way I see it, even if they don't die, it's totally up to the player on what happens. And, as it varies from god to god, maybe some of the gods do demand blood sacrifice. Plaguebringer may infect the body of an exalted dragon and use parasitic fungus to infest the body and create a cupcake serving army of zombie-like servants. Shadowbinder uses rituals tied to merging shadow demons or something to enhance the power of her new troops.
Yeah... kinda formed a whole story and stuff out of it.

I seriously don't get where the killing idea comes from...if anything, they're being sent off to be soldiers or overall servants to a deity (as you depicted in your last panel)
Though it does get a bit disheartening when you give away/sell or trade babies and they're exalted a few seconds later...but i guess c'est la vie and all that stuff...-shrug- but then i imagine my babies being their shadowy shit selves and thwarting the other god's plans >3> because that would be adorable XD
