Description
It has been five years since the invasion of the Vortaak, and their warlord, King Ghidorah, was defeated by the combined efforts of Godzilla 2000, the alien cyborg, Megalion, and the remaining kaiju of Earth. In that time, as is humanities nature when it comes to tampering with forces beyond our understanding, the world's scientists have unlocked the secrets of Godzilla's DNA, which had been extracted from the 2002 invasion from the many battles he fought in. And in their research, they have learned to encapsulate his incredible power in the form of a substance known as "The G-Cells". This compound could potential solve the human races problems, and make life better for all.
The only problem is that humans are not the only ones interested in the G-Cells.
Ghidorah and the Vortaak have returned once again. Only this time, they are under the command of their Queen, Vorticia, and a mysterious conqueror named Astronimus. Both have learned of the existence of these "G-Cells", and wish to use them in order to create the "Ultimate Monster", and conquer the known universe. To this end, they once again resort to enslaving kaiju, both old and new, to do their bidding, while enlisting the aid of monstrous horrors to aid in their conquest. For with the G-Cells, the Vortaak and The Mutant Invaders can increase their power to unstoppable levels, and rule all. Once again, Godzilla 2000 must stop these foes from destroying everything in their path to acquire his own essence held in these capsules of power.
It is a race to free his fellow defenders of earth alongside humanity, and find the G-Cells before the Vortaak and their monstrous allies do.
With more chaos unleashed, and twice the threat as before, it will be a miracle to see Godzilla once again restore balance, stop the Mutant Invaders, and once more Save The Earth.

The cover to the second story arc of the Godzilla Ataria saga: Save the Earth.
A favorite among fans, I can definitely vouch for that. And I should, considering how much I enjoyed playing this game when I still had my playstation. It had alot going for it, with an impressive roster, neat graphics, awesome fighting, and fun mini-levels that fit into the story mode if you play it on hard. It's a bit of a pain, but I assure that it's worth it. Though my appreciation for this game increased as my knowledge into the Godzilla franchise grew with me. Even "Unleashed", despite having the misfortune of only having the PS2 version aka "the other two games but with different background, and setting designs". Anyway, what really saddens me is the wasted potential this game's final level had. A further way to demonstrate that Spacegodzilla was the main kaiju villain of the story, while Vorticia was the alien invader villain of the series.
Though by now, everyone knows about the infamous "Mt. Fuji" level that never saw the light of day, even though the ending cinematic shows it........from an inside perspective. Nevertheless, we were supposed to have a great big showdown with Spacegodzilla in the summit of Mt. Fuji, itself, which I guess was cooled down for this very purpose. From what I learned, you first have to go through enemy kaiju still in the Vortaak's service, kind of like a ladder climb in a Mortal Kombat arcade session. You'd bulldoze your way through the enemies until you finally reach Spacegodzilla, himself, and take him out. I really would have loved to have that level to play in the game. *sigh* But Pipeworks and Atari just couldn't cut it.
I hear, or i guess i should say i've SEEN, some folks on youtube are working on an "overhaul" of Godzilla "STE" and "Unleashed" that revamps, and makes them better. That includes bringing life to the scrapped Mt. Fuji level. I'm not sure if they're actually remaking the games officially, or if they're making a game movie, but i AM looking forward to it. I hope you all are looking forward to this series......and that I can live up to my own hype.
And yes, there will be more characters included than there used to be, due to their importance to the story itself, in case anyone was wondering.
