Coincidentally, The seventh piece of my Disney Princess Final Fantasy series features a character dressed as a Final Fantasy 7 character, featuring Merida from Brave dressed and Tifa Lockhart. I had a tough time figuring who Merida should be dressed as since there are not that many tomboyish characters in final fantasy, but I decided to go with Tifa because demonstrating physical strength is part of Scottish culture, but I was a little hesitant at first since many people though her 2D design was too "pretty, revealing and sexy" (REALLY?! Since when is showing bare shoulders outrageous, and no one was screaming a Ariel and Jasmine showing WAY more skin than Merida!). I was not sure what to do about gloves, but the idea of having bear claws hit me after watching an episode of Archer (Bear claws! Raaaaaarrrrr!!!!). I really liked her outfit in Advent Children, so I had a couple of elements of that as part of her main outfit she wears in 7. And for those of you complaining about Merida having no bow and arrow here, she has a bow tied around her left arm and gold arrows suspender buckles (Wink wink).

Merida is wearing a pale aqua off the shoulder sleeveless shirt with cream colored ruffles on the top and bottom, with a dark blue cord stitched around the neckline and laced on the front, with round gold beads at the end. A short green plaid mini-kilt with a thick brown belt, a pair of black suspenders with gold arrow shaped buckles. On the belt is a gold buckle on her left hip with a piece of green fabric with a celtic knot embroidered on the bottom, and a long black duster that ends at her heals. A pair of brown leather ankle boots held with a green cloth around the ankles. A pair of long dark purple fingerless gloves with brown bear claws tied on her hands and gold ribbon around her wrists. A mint green ribbon is tied around her left arm in honor of Aerith, and a dark blue ribbon is tied at the base of her crazy curly red hair. Her outfit is light so she can be quick to deliver a power punch.
