Okay so an explination is in order.

I wish I was in charge of Soul Calibur's story department... and I also wish I had some say in the design department.

This is Soul Edge possessed Sophitia aka the Death Matron. We all know Soul Edge has mutative corruptive effects on its wielder so there you go.

Raphael had obtained Soul Calibur after defeating a battle wearied Siegfried (defeated, not killed). Siegfried had destroyed Nightmare but before he could destroy Soul Edge, Sophitia had taken the sword. The sword continued to feed upon Sophitia's breaking mind and overwhelming emotions until tragedy struck.

Amy had gone in search of Soul Edge for her father, hoping that by getting it, he wouldn't have to keep leaving her. Sophitia struck Amy down, killed her. After snapping out of her blood haze, Sophitia is overrun with grief and Soul Edge takes over her completely.

Meanwhile Raphael enters the scene only to find his precious daughter dead, her killer standing before him, eyes ablaze. Raphael swears to kill Sophitia. They fight, but then the tower starts to crumble due to the instabilities of the swords. Raphael scoops Amy up and leaves with her while Sophitia and Phyrra also escape the doomed tower.

2 years later:

Sophitia has reclaimed Ostrhiensburg once more. The last two years had been bloody ones. New souls constantly being claimed to further Soul Edge's corruptive existance and all the while, Phyrra remains steadfast by her mother's side. She's 6 now, a child who despite no matter what evil, what sins her mother commits day in and out, loves her mother very much and clings to her side by the end of the day.

Soul Edge's effects are clear as day on Sophitia, once a beautiful Athenian, she is now a hideous remnant of the woman she once was. Her entire right arm has been twisted, deformed, covered in a sickly reddish brown sinue, riddled with hideous bulging veins, a reddish orange eye constantly peering out from her tricep. Her left leg is also heavily affected by the corruption, teeth like spikes protruding from either end of her knee cap and talon like toes mark her transformation. Her body is covered in reddish veins and her right eye glows a vibrant, evil reddish orange. Her canine teeth end in fangs and her hair is unbraided and she wears a horned helm. Her clothing a red and black mockery of the pure goddess like clothing she used to don.

Ostrhiensburg is once more the capital of the terror that Soul Edge reigns over the world. Will its corruption never end? How many lives must it ruin before it is finally ended.
