BAAINNVA begun procurement procedure in late 2033 to replace NH90A s in future as well as was looking to acquire larger ASW helicopters, with AW101, CH-148 and Z-18F as competitors. With further talks and negotiations, best deal was provided by PRC, but initial choice was put on AW101. Ultimately, both tenders was postponed due to Polish Border Conflict, overall military budget cuts in previous years and because of worsening relations with China, finally in 2038 an AW101 was ultimately chosen. For ASW duties, an modified version without rear ramp and similar sensor suit to NH90AN was orderd and received designation AW101N . Meanwhile, AW101 that was meant to replace NH90As in future was equipped with rear ramp as well as several other modification required by BAAINNVA. This modification included integration of removable armament system mounted on sides of landing gear sponsons and side windows that can be opened and used by gunners if needed, with one on the left replacing side doors. This modification received designation AW101T and was primarily designed for troop and cargo transportation from larger ships like future Berlin-class LHA. Thanks to it having possibility of being equipped with weapon pylons, it can provide good air support in absence of dedicated attack helicopters like EC-795 s and EC-795Ms. It have total of two pylons, with capability of having up to 210kg of armament each. It is also equipped with PSR-39 DIRCM for self protection as well as it can be fitted with refueling probe for long endurance flights. First AW101T was received in March 2038 with 20 more following by the end of the year and full order completed by the end of 2045.

Presented AW101T belongs to Marine-Transporthubschraubergeschwader 2 (MTHG-2) and have tactical number "023". This helicopter was based on second Berlin-class LHA called "Frankfurt am Main". This helicopter along with entire wing was operating mainly in Mediterranean Sea in support of operations near Libyan coast in combined EADA fleet. Later on in 2043 it was used during Operation "Sandstorm" against Turkish and Chinese backed Libyan Government. It was lost in July 2044 during raid on Sabha to Egyptian SPAAG.
