Kacie Jones lives in The Basin, a secluded area roughly the size of Russia. It is cut off from the rest of the world by giant, supposedly impassible mountains. There have long been rumors of an advanced city on the other side of these mountains, a place that is referred to as PROMISE. For generations, this place was thought to be a myth, until a single futuristic mech made its way over the mountains, a feat that was thought to be impossible. The mech tore through The Basin's defenses, destroying mechs from all five cities with ease until it was finally taken out by one lucky punch that killed the only pilot.

The mech self-destructed after being defeated, but one important piece of it survived: The Rhrombicos. the Rhombicos is essentially a computer, and if any of the five city-states of the basin were to get their hands on it and reverse-engineer its technology, they would be able to conquer all the other cities in one fell swoop. However, the Rhombicos has been stolen, and nobody knows where it is. All five cities are desperately searching for it.

The PROMISE mech is more agile than its steam-powered counterparts from The Basin. It is also faster, more powerful, and able to leap through the air with the assistance of boosters on its wings. It needs no crew, but only one single pilot. In all ways it is technologically superior, and any of the five city-states would kill to unlock its secrets for themself.
