Description Hi! Back with more Makorra! Sadly, not digital art. Haven't found the time to have my pen fixed (or to at least get the batteries for it) so I haven't been using my tablet!

This was the first time I scanned using the scanner!! It probably sounds weird, but I used to scan using my computer!! (now I'm really not making sense, either way, I'm really happy!)

-----

So here's the story this time. (Yes, as there always is a story behind my Makorra drawings.)

From the title, you probably know what the Red Thread of Fate is, right? It's the invisible Red Thread that apparently, connects you to the one you are destined to be with, or your soul mate. Supposedly it's tied around your pinky finger.

I'm sure many have though of Mako's red scarf that way haha, so this might not be a first.

Either way, the description was cut off, on the upper right. It's supposed to say, "A red thread of fate ties the hearts of those who are destined to be together."

The Makorra story starts on a dangerous trip. Well, not really. It only leads to that.
Bolin, Mako and Korra are all travelling to some place somewhere in Republic City when they come across a wobbly bridge—broken down and everything. It’s obvious that it’s dangerous to cross, but Korra being Korra, acting all haughty, says they’ll be fine.
They start to cross the bridge, when suddenly, the bridge starts to collapse around the center part. Bolin’s ahead, so he’s just about to jump across, but Mako’s foot snatches onto a crack, and he slips and falls down. (Now, my imagination goes beyond me, but for some reason his scarf untangles from his neck, okay?) So Korra grabs his scarf in an attempt to save him and DOESNT CHOKE HIM. SHE DOESN’T CHOKE HIM, AND HE DOESN’T DIE, THANK GOODNESS.

Anyways, Korra’s holding on to the collapsed bridge with one hand, Mako on the end of the scarf, and the bridge is going to collapse any time soon.

“Korra, let the HELL go of the scarf!” Mako yells at her.
“NO!” Korra cries, shaking her head vigorously, “You must be out of your MIND to even THINK that I’d let go!”
“Do you want both of us to die?!” Mako asked, irritated. “You’re the AVATAR! You’re supposed to save Republic City and continue what Avatar Aang started! I’m just a firebender—you can find my kind ANYWHERE, NOW LET GO!”
“NO!” Korra says, gripping even more tightly to the scarf. “I’m never going to let you go!”
Mako glares up at Korra, and threatens, “Then I’ll let go myse—”
And he sees tears. Tears that Korra really would never show to anyone at all; because she’s tough, and she’s strong, and she never cries. This stops him from attempting to let go—afraid that whatever he’d do, would only hurt her more.
(Korra obviously can’t air bend out of the situation, since she hasn’t mastered it yet.)

From this point on, Bolin’s got a hand on the bridge. Since it’s made of some form of earth, he’s slowly earthbending it sideways, so that it gets closer to the edge of the otherside, where he’s standing. Korra keeps holding on tightly, and Mako is about to fall, but thankfully, they make it at least to the other side.

From the scene, I just imagined how the two of them were holding each side of the red thread, just clinging on dearly, for each other’s lives. Both of them willing to save one another. It just made such an impact, that I wanted to treat Mako’s scarf so preciously to the two of them, and certainly as the red thread of fate that ties them together.
