he is just the cutest thing! Reminds me so much of my own Pig. She was about that size when we got her. She passed away last year at the ripe old age of 10 (very old for a pig). She was a deep beautiful red, I miss her so much. She was a great friend of mine. I have to say that out of all the animals Ive ever known, she ws one of the most interesting. Very smart and quite human like. She was a rather a fussy eater, not at all the 'pig' people make them out to be. Some foods she would only eat cooked! And she knew if there was pork in the food (sometimes mom would accidentally throw some in, like if it was sausage in spagetti or something. boy did I ream her about that!), shed pick it all out and not eat it. And she got pms just like people. She would get a little 'touchy' and depressed. Shed mope around and not do much and get snappy with us. And she was HUGE! About 700 pounds or so at her largest, maybe more. She had lots of hair too. I never knew that some pigs are hairy! Her 'crest' on her neck and sholders was about 5 inches long and it varied in length every where else. Her only bald area was her squishy belly. I miss that belly so much. She loved to have you rub it. And they have awsome feet. They have nails that go around a very soft pad, not a solid hoof like horses. And I tell you what, I cant, for the life of me, fathom why anyone would eat pigs. Its disusting. Well, in my opinion, eating any animal is discusting, but pigs bother me more than most. I havent eaten pork in, um, about 16 years and I'll go the rest of my life not eating it! lol Did you know that every pig that dies for meat is only about 6 months old? Eck. They live horrible lives, dont ever let anyone fool you about farm life.... My Pig lived in our house untill she was just too big, then she moved in to the barn and then eventually out to a grassy enclosure with her very own house in it. She spent the majority of her life there (and roaming the yard, she could get out of her pen any time she liked! lol one of her favorite things to do when she was loose was to beat up my lawn mower, lol! She eventually killed it.). The last 5 or so months of her life she spend lying on her side. She was so old that she could no longer get up. My mom wanted to have her put down, but I didnt and so I took care of her for the last few months of her life. I hand fed her two to three times a day and devised a way of watering her with a short peice of hose and a funnel. Sometimes she wouldnt drink water so Id make her iced tea or coolaid (sometimes shed get soda too). She seemed very happy in those last months. Maybe a bit frustrated with not being able to get up, but she got LOADS of attention from me and my fiance. It was safe to hug her and lay iwth her because she couldnt get up (when she was able to get around, she was a bit um, agressive at times so it wasnt always a good idea to lay with her or hug her.). And her attitude changed towards me. She was much more affectionate, giving me kisses every day! And on cool nights Id lavish her with blankets and on hot days id spend hours misting her with water. I miss her. I'm sorry if Ive gone on, but your beautiful photo made me think of her. And I feel strongly that they shold be treated with the utmost respect and love. Even the bible says not to eat them! If youd like to see Pig (that was her name, by the way. We tried different names for her, but it always came back to Pig. She knew it quite well, too), I have a few photos up of her in my gallery. And hey, if you eat pork, maybe think about my Pig the next time you go to eat it....and put it down and find something else!

Aww, cute! Little piglets are so sweet. I want a pot-bellied pig. The only photograph I've ever taken of one (not been around many...lol) was the one I dissected in high school. lol
