Iv'e done 5 gallons with other bettas but they died after 6 months. The ones I have had in 2 gallons have lived much much longer. I would prefer to give them more room...but I am too scared now. thankyou!!

A 5 gallon is definitely better as long as it's filtered with a filter that's not too strong, and has plenty of hiding places. The tank should also be cycled properly. If you do all those things, there's a good chance the fish will live much longer than in a 2 gal
