Description So some context for why I consider the YA novel "Ship It" a scary book and this joke.

So Ship It, is the story of a gay fangirl named Claire who watches a show (basically the book's version of Supernatural) and ships the male protagonist with the show's villain, basically she's one of those slash fans (is that what they are called?) who see the Good guy vs. bad guy as "they really are hot for each other and all would be better if they just KISSS!". She goes to a convention of her favorite show and asks the actor if his character is actually gay and could get together with the villain, of course he jokingly dismisses it and Claire leaves the panel crying because "my ship!" . Disaster ensues and the production decide to take in Claire in order to control the bad reception. What follows is a really mary sue story where this fangirl FORCES the whole show to make her ship canon.

And I say "Force" cause this girl goes to Blackmail some of the team, hijacks a actors twitter account, writes a revenge gay fanfic where she writes secret personal stuff told to her by the actor she adores and ruins his job, makes a gay girlfriend who she get's angry at for not telling everyone she's a fan of the show, FORCES her out of the closet TO HER MOTHER and is such a snobby fangirl who says that fanart is not "real art" and not a "real job". Also she ends up getting her way and forces the show to change the characters so they can be gay, and forcing the actors to act the gay kissing scene in FRONT OF A PANEL AUDIENCE...

Did I mention this book is written by a writer from  R  I  V  E  R  D  A  L  E ?

And this isn't just me, all this stuff I read from many reviewers who are Fangirls and found the whole book insulting and representing the worst part of the fandom and the Toxic shipping fans

Now back to me, I only ended up coming across this book cause it was recommend to me by the Disney Store and apparently its already 2 years old. But finding out more about this book, I find it disturbing and scary cause THIS book is EXACTLY what I was afraid that the Jelsa fandom would do to Frozen

This book is basically what would happen if all these Jack Frost and Elsa shippers got their way, and trust me from all the stuff I have to deal with them www.deviantart.com/triassiclan…

www.deviantart.com/triassiclan…   This book is a perfect dramatization of what these people would do if Disney had gone and try to please the fandom and make Jelsa Canon, everything from harassing the actors, hijacking their twitter accounts, crying and throwing a tantrum, forcing them to do a public kiss (like many of them actually did with Cosplayers) all that is represented in this book.. and it's portrayed as a GOOD THING and Claire as the HEROINE for it!

As one of the reviews said it best, this book is as much a representation of Fan girls as 50 Shades of Grey is a representation of BDSM culture, in that is a bad image. Ship It basically turns the annoying toxic shippers and makes then the heroes in how they are right and forcing everyone to change the show for a crack slash ship.

It pretty much goes for the entitled fan mentality that a show "must be dictated by the fans and the fans know better than the people who created the show" even if the fan ideas are terrible. Gee, fans believing that their version of the show is much better than the official product, why is that so familiar?? www.deviantart.com/triassiclan…

So really making this book the highlight of the week and feeling this book is gonna go on to be a movie or just something that is gonna end up as the next Twilight/50 Shades cause of the "positive" reviews is getting in some sites and Disney promoting it as a celebration of Gay culture when in reality is just a horrible depiction of a toxic fandom.
