Description
Pastel on paper 70cm X 50cm.Portrait of Carol.
finished 9th of July.
replaced photo now. I think tis ok, although some detail is lost
Happy enough with the new title.

Its about the defenses women have to put up for self protection (from every idiot that wants to shag a pretty girl and brag to their mates) and of course the eternal hope that someone worthwhile will find a way through.

how is it possible you make such tiny lines with the pastels?... I'm stunned.

it's actually easier then getting sharp edges on pastel pencils if you ask me, although I do use them for various things also. you break a pastel and you get a really sharp edge all the way round, Rembrandts are particularly good for it.

great job once again man ... i really like how you are managing to keep the hands involved with the compositions lately - it really adds something extra and accents/balances the portrait side - I see nothing wrong with titleing it Carol part 12 actually ... as she is very much a re-occuring presence in your work

I've always wanted to just name my work after the subject, but galleries think its less salable or something rah rah..
