here is my half of an art trade with ! here is their version of the spm crew. i drew it on stream for a few weeks, and it was a great opportunity to practice using a wayyy different color palette than i'm used to. i got to try out a new shading technique, a new(ish) line art technique, and a faster looser way to draw objects in the distance... it was a great learning experience! i'm glad owl gave me this opportunity, and was very patient while i messed around with their lovely character designs.Related content

Gosh the power of the fandom really shines with how uniquely people are able to design this group. The abstract style of the game really encourages people to use their imagination in ways I can't imagine would come through otherwise.

oh yeah i absolutely love seeing what everyone does with these guys, there are so many fun ways to bring them to life. mimi especially has so many interpretations, and she did have the simplest game sprite, after all. thank you for the compliments!!

oH YES this pic, im a big fan of this one! you drew their spm crew so well, i especially love how nastasia and mimi came out! the spatter of markings on both their skin is really nice to look at! i lov the leaves too, oo ans the clouds!! they look so soft! and dimentio being a bastard and stealing mimi's rubees is so good i love it, and o chunks helping her! the lil blur coming off them to signify theyre moving fast is really good too!

Aw man, sam, i just absolutely love this picture you know. I love how you drew the crew, every single one of them, and I love how you did the background. The coloring is so very nice!
I really like the amount of detail you included in here. How o’chunks scar has dug itself into his skin for example. Or how you can still see nas’ eyes through her glasses. You did her lighter colored splotches so well too! and I love how expressive mimi is! An angry small toothpick, ready to launch off and pin dim to the ground. As it should be! And the little shine on her teeth…you can tell they’re all nice and sharp! Excellent.
Dimentio would most certainly steal mimi’s rubees and run off with them...and definitely smile his gross smile while doing so! I love that he just stole so many rubees that he can barely hold them all at once, all just to make mimi angry haha
Bloom looks so nice too! it’s cute how you drew him with his tail wrapped around him while drinking some tea with nas (love the size difference in the cups by the way. it’s so great). And I love the fact that you included his freckles! The old man looks so good in your style. They all do!!
And I think it’s really impressive that you drew them all so well, despite not being used to their designs that much at all! Especially bloom, with his kinda squashed snout is, uh, certainly not easy to draw X] but it’s so cool that you drew this and the end result is just fantastic!

i saw how you drew bloom sitting and i knew i had to try... most of them didn't give me that much trouble. nastasia's and bloom's faces, i think, were the trickiest, but your designs are very lively and fun to work with so it wasn't a chore.

The background and characters blend together great - and you really put a lot of effort into making all those dark colors fit into a bright setting.

aah thank you!! the palette was certainly an experiment... i do really like how it turned out though, it helped me get a lot more comfortable with picking less saturated colors in my other art too. the comic i've got ready for halloween uses much more homely colors than my other colored digital pieces so far haha.
