Could I use this tank picture as an example of a good tank set-up on my blog? bettaobsession.blogspot.com/

I'd be careful with the male with the females unless you're looking to breed... and even then they'll be aggressive towards females. Lovely tank, but I'd consider separating them.

Love it! What size is it? Wish I could do this with Merc, but he is such an ass.

Hehe, my bettas are well behaved
But seriously, they are. The seldom fight or chase each other.
The only one who sometimes chase a little bit is my male, but he never harms the females.
And all the females have sweet temper and character. They sometimes show-off to each other, but I have never seen them harm anyone
in the tank. Maybe I am just lucky. And maybe the fact that my females was in the tank before the male, maybe that helps. They have already created a matriarch
society, and when the male came, he simply followed "their rules and behavior". I don't know xD

no i have babe and two females in one tank and i have michael angelo in anther tank and he has five females because they are all around the same age. babe and the two females are also around the same age but they are about two years younger than michael. thats why i keep them separate

Very nice setup for them! However be careful with those shells, the calcium in them can make the pH go quite alkaline. Also the rocks where the Amazon Sword is on, is that base rock or is it fake?

This is beautiful. My male beta shares his home with various species of Cories and some snails. Their tank, while sufficient and, in my opinion, neat looking, is not nearly as snazzy as this.

Ask a fish store about snails. I can't remember what they are called but they have horns on their shells. Anyhow, these little guys are FABULOUS about eating algae. During the warm months, our tank was getting a TON of direct sunlight through a window that was kept open to catch the nice weather since, where we live, catching those precious few months of warm sunshine are so important since we live in the land of mist, fog, and never-ending rain. Anyhow, three of these little guys in the tank had the entire tank nearly spotless inside of two weeks. We feed them algae wafers to supplement their diet of tank algae so they don't starve but they are amazing at keeping a dirty tank clean. Two or three work well for a ten gallon tank.

I tossed a nerite into the tank last week but it's not doing much. As stupid as it sounds my apartment does not allow snails so I had to get a small one that is inconspicuous, if I could get more than one and a larger snail with a healthier appetite I would. I am moving back home next month so hopefully I can get some then. Until then I am stuck cleaning the algae myself with a toothbrush xD

That's... odd. Hahaha. I have never heard of an apartment not allowing snails... I doubt anyone would notice snails in a tank that full. I think they are called Spiral Horned Snails or something similar. They generally only get about the size of a dime but I wouldn't want you to get busted with your illegal snails!
When you do move out of that apartment, check them out. They're hard workers!

I've just got a dinky little two gallon. It doesn't have a betta in it at the moment, though I did just purchase a gorgeous crowntail last night.
I'll be cleaning it up soon, purchasing a heater this time around, and adding a little aquarium salt. My last two bettas each lived about a year without the heater and salt, but I'm hoping to have this guy a lot longer by taking much better care this time around.
Anyway, your tank is gorgeous. I hope to one day get one where I can decorate it how I wish. I'd love to have that kind of setup that you've got, as well as have more than just one fish in there.

wow, that's a gorgeous setup. uwu i've got a tank with six females myself, but i've never heard of keeping a male with them females safely. how does that work?
one time due to a mistake of a seller they sent me a plakat male instead of a female, and i didn't realize that they were a male in my excitement on getting my fish into the tank. and then i didn't realize until he had killed and seriously injured two of the females already in there that he was.. well a he. did you specifically choose a less aggressive male?

you're quite welcome. c:
ahh, i see. maybe i'll try it one day, but i wouldn't trust the females i have now with a male. several of them are very hot-headed as it is. ^^'
yeah, i realize that. had i not been so happy to get "her" into the tank and actually inspected the fish closely i would have realized. i try to go by ventral size more than anything else.

That looks amazing. I thought that you could not have more than 1 betta in a tank. My first betta died when I was in college-he was my roommate- have not gotten one since. But I am thinking of getting one

Wow what a beautiful tank. *.*
And those bettas...they...are...just...stunning. I never saw so wonderful bettas before. Those in the Petshops look so unhealthy. The purple female is a real eye catcher. The male too. What color is he? See no red so I guess it's not a cambogian.
And he's quiet a lucky bastard by having 9 girls. Mine had only 4 wives. xD

He was a double tail, but we think he was mixed between that and a king betta. He was the sweetest thing, gorgeous white with two red stripes in his fins, but he ended up with cancer six months after I got him. I'd had him 18 months.
I hadn't uploaded any pictures to dA because of his tumor.
