Description Based on the four elements of nature:

Earth, Water, Air, and Fire.

Earth --> the tree
Water --> the fish/waves
Air --> the eagle/clouds
Fire --> the sun

This last weekend I spent practically a whole day in an art museum, completely engulfed in the artistic talents of artists from many different time periods. I noticed a stunning painting of European Art from the 1600's depicting the four elements. It was a kitchen scene with copper pots (fire), birds and fish ready for cooking (water and air) and vegetables ready to be cut (earth). I was so awed and inspired by that painting, I decided to make my own depiction of the four elements.



I'm very proud of this piece!!

This is gorgeous! I love how cohesive it is. You get a real feeling of peace and harmony between the elements in this. The water is definitely my favorite in this image. You have a way of rendering water that's very pleasing to the eye.

No reference? Wow, you would never be able to tell. That is one of the hardest things to do, for me, when it comes to drawing - drawin something completely from the imagination.

Yes, that's why I'm so proud of this piece. It was total imagination!! Sometimes it is hard to draw without reference! Usually I need a reference for something I'm drawing.
