Carol Danvers was an air force pilot, her nickname was Warbird. While doing a test run with a new jet, she crashed and was bleeding out quickly. SHIELD used Kree blood from a Kree Captain named Mar-Vell who came to Earth in the 90's. This blood gave her flight, enhanced Strength and cosmic energy blasts. She also got Kree armor and started calling herself Ms Marvel. She proceeded to join the Avengers and became cocky, knowing she was the strongest of them all.
