I bought a holographic spinning disc thing from a theme park when I was a kid, it was a useless nic-nac but shiny enough for a kid to want it. I had that for ages and when I was about 18 I dropped some acid and sat spinning it for about an hour in my friends living room, for an act so mundane it was a profoundly exotic and outlandishly quixotic experience that has only now been succinctly summed up by this glorious image.
